No estudo participaram 204 adultos e jovens adultos.
Lack of work motivation and low well-being at work are frequently associated with poor mental health and with the development of anxiety, depression and stress. The present work is relevant given that mental health, and the workplace context are increasingly a concern for society, while research in Portugal on this topic remains scarce. It has the objetive to understand the relationship between motivation, well-being at work and anxiety, depression and stress in young adults and adults. The study included 204 adults and young adults. The methodological plan involved the administration of five questionnaires: a sociodemographic questionnaire and four instruments validated for the Portuguese population – Anxiety, Depression and Stress Scale (EADS-21); Affective Well-Being at Work Scale; Labor Satisfaction Survey Questionnaire; the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale. The results showed that affective well-being at work was the main significant predictor of low levels of anxiety, depression and stress. Significant differences were found in the levels of these variables in relation to gender, marital status, parenthood, type of contract, length of time in the position, and whether or not participants held managerial roles.pt_PT
