| pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Trafficking in Human Beings (THB) is one of the most serious human rights violations in the contemporary world. In Angola, this reality has gained relevance due to structural factors such as extreme poverty and social inequality. Given the limited publication of scientific works on the subject in Angola, we set out to address this dissertation, the theme of which is “The Problem of Human Trafficking in Angola: Causes and Combat Mechanisms”, and to understand the causes of human trafficking in Angola, study its factors and analyze how these factors drive human trafficking in the country, with a focus on the vulnerability of children, women and young people. It also aims to study the mechanisms for combating THB in use in Angola, both by the government and by international organizations operating in Angola. The approach is qualitative, based on specialized literature, official documents, and international reports. The dissertation concludes that the causes of THB in Angola lie in factors such as poverty and social inequality, political instability, corruption and institutional fragility, cultural factors, and irregular migration. Since THB is not an isolated crime, but part of a wider phenomenon of human rights violations and global inequalities, it is essential that the Angolan government, in collaboration with civil society and international organizations, commit to coordinated, sustainable and human rights-focused action. | pt_PT |
