This study aimed to explore the association between physical activity and psychological indicators, namely well-being, self-esteem, and loneliness. The sample consisted of 112 individuals aged between 55 and 89 years (M = 64), of whom 67 were physically active participants aged between 55 and 82 years (M = 65). The following instruments were used: Sociodemographic Questionnaire, International Physical Activity Questionnaire, Personal Well-Being Scale, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, and UCLA Loneliness Scale. The results indicated a positive association between well-being and self-esteem and a negative association with loneliness. Weekly walking was positively associated with well-being and negatively associated with loneliness, while moderate and vigorous physical activity showed no significant associations. A negative association was found between age and well-being, whereas education level and the number of leisure activities were positively associated with well-being and self-esteem and negatively associated with loneliness. Sedentary behavior showed no significant associations. In summary, the findings suggest that light forms of physical activity, as well as certain sociodemographic variables and engagement in leisure activities, are associated with psychological well-being in the studied older adult population.
