Personalidade e distorções cognitivas no ofensor sexual

Abstract

Define-se como ofensa sexual todo o tipo de ato ou violência no qual o individuo agressor abusa do poder que tem sobre uma determinada vítima com o objetivo de obter satisfação sexual sem o consentimento da mesma. É importante o estudo e a intervenção nestas populações, uma vez que ainda há muito a explorar sobre as perturbações de personalidade que estes ofensores podem apresentar, assim como o tipo de pensamentos e crenças que estes podem construir sobre o ato e sobre o outro. Este estudo tem como objetivo compreender e caracterizar a personalidade e as alterações cognitivas no ofensor sexual. É um estudo transversal, desenvolvido através de uma abordagem mista, com 49 ofensores sexuais, do sexo masculino, com nacionalidade portuguesa, compreendidos entre os 20 e os 70 anos de idade, reclusos nos estabelecimentos prisionais portugueses. As variáveis avaliadas são a personalidade e as distorções cognitivas. O estudo contém três instrumentos quantitativos: questionário sociodemográfico, Mini-Mult (desenvolvido por Kincannon em 1968), How I Think - Questionnaire (desenvolvido por Barriga, Gibbs, Potter & Liau em 2001) e um instrumento qualitativo construído pela própria investigadora.

A sexual offense is defined as any type of act or violence in which the aggressor abuses the power, he has over a given victim in order to obtain sexual satisfaction without the victim's consent. It is important to study and intervene in these populations, since there is still much to explore about the personality disorders that these offenders may present, as well as the type of thoughts and beliefs they can build about the act and about the other. This study aims to understand and characterize the personality and cognitive changes in the sex offender. It is a cross-sectional study, developed through a mixed approach, with 49 male sex offenders, with Portuguese nationality, between 20 and 70 years of age, inmates in Portuguese prisons. The variables evaluated are personality and cognitive distortions. The study contains three quantitative instruments: sociodemographic questionnaire, Mini-Mult (developed by Kincannon in 1968), How I Think - Questionnaire (developed by Barriga, Gibbs, Potter & Liau in 2001) and a qualitative instrument constructed by the researcher herself.
