The exponential growth in the level of consumption of individuals has naturally led to an increase in the importance of Marketing, since consumers have come to identify and connect with products and services in an increasingly complex way, making them be, among other characteristics, more selective in the purchase process. The relevance of these issues has reached prominence in Digital Marketing in recent decades. More specifically, the digital environment has added a new layer of complexity to consumption processes, as it has changed the perspectives of space, time and information. Added to these new dynamics is the weight of hyper-consumption, business competitiveness and the amount of offers show clearly the need to develop strategies that meet the needs of consumers, while guaranteeing the sustainability of organizations. Thus, this dissertation is based on Digital Marketing, consumption and the relationship between companies and consumers. In general, it aims to identify the impact in commercial strategies developed by companies in the digital environment. To fulfill this purpose, a holistic methodological proposal was developed, involving a quantitative and qualitative analysis, in order to answer the following central question: “What is the impact of CRM, sCRM, SEO and SEM tools on the business strategy of companies?” The quantitative stage was based on the descriptive analysis of billing data from one of the leading companies in the e-retail market in Portugal. On the other hand, the qualitative phase consisted of analyzing the results of a focus group carried out with retail consumers. Both methodological analyzes allowed us to conclude that tools such as CRM, sCRM, SEO and SEM have a positive impact on business strategies developed by organizations. The dissertation aims to make a positive contribution to the Portuguese market, aiming to provide national notions and procedures in the approach to the commerce of organizations.
