Cidade, espacialidade e forma - considerações sobre a articulação de três noções fundamentais para a história urbana

Abstract

Este artigo busca desenvolver uma reflexão acerca das perspectivas que têm considerado as relações entre cidade, espacialidade e forma urbana. Parte-se de uma discussão inicial acerca da forma externa da cidade, e em um segundo momento a discussão refere-se à forma interna produzida pela cidade como uma forma específica de organização social. Por fim, são discutidos os aspectos relativos ao crescimento urbano e à sua historicidade, encerrando-se o ensaio com considerações sobre a cultura material e o imaginário.

This article attempts to develop a reflection about the various perspectives that have been considered the relations between city, space and urban form. In the first moment the discussion concerns to understand the external urban patterns, and in the second moment the reflexion concerns to the internal form produced by the city as a specific form of social organization. After this, they are discussed the aspects concerned to the growing of the city and its historicity, ending the essays with considerations about the material culture and Imaginary.
