Património Vernáculo : intervenção numa ruína em Janeiro de Cima

Abstract

Resumo: O presente trabalho procura fazer uma reflexão teórica/prática sobre uma intervenção numa ruína em Janeiro de Cima. A sensibilidade de intervir num conjunto rural levou-nos a fazer uma análise dos conceitos relacionados com Património Vernacular e os valores que o definem, tendo sempre como objetivo a proteção e salvaguarda do objeto construído. Embora existam locais portadores de valores patrimoniais, sejam estes valores de Identidade, Memória, Autenticidade e Integridade, os mesmos não se encontram com nenhuma classificação - não existindo assim nenhuma salvaguarda ou valorização. Deste modo, concluímos que a consequência dessa inação deixa estes locais ao abandono e em ruína, sendo necessária uma ação que consiga então valorizar e salvaguardar o local, sem por em causa os seus valores patrimoniais. Os conceitos de Património estão em constante evolução e para tal foi necessário fazer uma análise para perceber como estes evoluíram. É importante referir que a análise inclui temas desde valores patrimoniais até às formas corretas de intervir. Em suma, entendemos que a ação correta a aplicar na ruína será uma intervenção arquitetónica de forma a salvaguardar os valores patrimoniais. Hoje em dia, as intervenções no Património Vernacular ou Tradicional adquiriram uma maior importância, pois é nestes locais que verificamos uma maior concentração de valores históricos, sociais, artísticos e arquitetónicos. Estes valores conferem a estes conjuntos rurais Identidade e um sentimento de Memória Coletiva, destacando-se no mapa pelas suas tradições, modo de habitar ou modo construir. Assim sendo, entendemos que devido ao seu estado de conservação e os valores patrimoniais existentes, a intervenção teria de passar por etapas de estudo e planeamento com o objetivo de salvaguardarmos e valorizarmos o bem construído - sendo que este será uma mais valia para todo o conjunto rural.

Abstract: The present study seeks to make a theoretical/practical reflection about an intervention in a ruin in Janeiro de Cima. The sensitivity to intervene in a rural set led us to elaborate an analysis of the concepts related to Vernacular Heritage and values that define it - always having as a goal the protection and safeguarding the constructed object. Although there are places that carry patrimonial value, such as values of identity, memory, authenticity and integrity - they do not find themselves under a specific label, having no protection as a consequence. Thus, we conclude that the consequence of this inaction leaves these sites abandoned and in disrepair, requiring an action that can then enhance and safeguard the place without jeopardizing its asset values. The concepts of heritage are in constant evolution and to this end it was necessary to conduct an analysis to understand how these have evolved. It is important to note that the analysis includes themes from patrimonial values to the correct ways to intervene. In short, we believe that the right action to be applied in the ruin will be an architectural intervention in order to safeguard its value. Nowadays, interventions in the Vernacular or traditional Heritage have acquired greater importance because it is in these places that we see a greater concentration of historical, social, architectural and artistic values. These values give these rural assemblies identity and a sense of collective memory, especially on a map, by their traditions, way of inhabiting or the way they were built. Therefore, we believe that due to its current condition and the existing patrimonial values, the intervention would have to go through stages of study and planning, with the aim of safeguarding and adding additional value to this building - as a consequence, this will benefit the entire rural setting in question.
