Intervenção no património : da reabilitação à adição : a casa do Conde de Felgueiras

Abstract

A reabilitação do património está cada vez mais a tornar-se num instrumento imprescindível no que refere á salvaguarda do património e ao desenvolvimento sustentável da malha urbana que compõe as cidades. A preocupação com aquilo que nos é transmitido no tempo e a vontade de respeitar esse legado serve então de mote á reabilitação que por sua vez nos surge como um ato de modernidade e evolução. É então o fio condutor deste estudo a perceção do que consiste esse legado que nos é transmitido, de que forma o receber, e qual a forma de o transmitir às gerações futuras patenteando nele uma marca de contemporaneidade. Após uma analise à taxonomia de Françoise Bollack exposta no seu livro “Old Buildings, New Forms”, compreendemos e expomos as diferentes estratégias a adotar aquando de um resgate desse legado às atuais exigências da cidade. Intervir no património é uma tarefa que exige grande compreensão do objeto de estudo, da sua envolvente e ainda de todas as intervenções possíveis. Assim, através do presente documento apresentamos um estudo que compreende a prática de intervir no património, neste caso uma habitação localizada no Centro da Cidade de Felgueiras. Trata-se de um edifício com características nobres que terá sido construído em finais do século XIX por um “Felgueirense notável”. Após um percurso temporal até então, encontra-se agora devoluto sendo um problema para a cidade, ou não estivesse este afeto ao seu núcleo central. É então, suportados neste estudo que apresentamos uma reabilitação regida por um restauro de conservação associado a uma adição justaposta.

The rehabilitation of the architectural heritage is increasingly becoming an indispensable instrument in terms of safeguarding the architectural heritage and in terms of the sustainable development of the urban network that makes up cities. The preoccupation with what is transmitted to us in time and the will to respect this legacy then serves as a motto for rehabilitation, which in turn appears to us as an act of modernity and evolution. It is then the guiding thread of this study to understand what consists to this legacy that is transmitted to us, in what form to receive it, and how to transmit it to the future generations by patenting in it a mark of contemporaneity. After an analysis of the taxonomy of Françoise Bollack in her book "Old Buildings, New Forms", we understand and explain the different strategies to adopt when rescuing this legacy to the current demands of the contemporary city. Intervening in architetural heritage is a task that requires a great understanding of the object of study, of its surroundings and of all possible interventions. Thus, through this document we present a study that includes the practice of intervening in the patrimony, in this case a housing located in the Center of the City of Felgueiras. It is a building with noble characteristics that was built at the end of the 19th century by a “remarkable Felgueirense”. After aperiod of time being used the building is now abandoned being a problem for the city, or wasn´t it connected to its central core. It is then, supported in this study that we present a rehabilitation managed by a conservation restoration associated with a juxtaposed addition.
