Dinâmica familiar e qualidade de vida em crianças com NEE

Abstract

A família é um dos principais sistemas que servem de suporte à criança, para que esta consiga enfrentar com mais segurança e possibilidade de sucesso, os desafios impostos pela aprendizagem. Assim sendo, pode-se atribuir à família a função de espaço educativo para o desenvolvimento moral, cognitivo e afetivo da criança, permitindo assim a construção de uma existência própria. Tendo por base esta função da família, a presente investigação pretende analisar a perceção acerca da dinâmica familiar de pais de crianças com necessidades educativas especiais e a perceção de qualidade vida destas. Os objetivos da presente investigação são: compreender e caracterizar a influência do género dos pais na perceção da sua dinâmica familiar; compreender e caracterizar a influência da escolaridade dos pais na perceção da sua dinâmica familiar; compreender e caracterizar a influência do estado civil dos pais na perceção da sua dinâmica familiar; compreender e caracterizar a influência do estatuto socioeconómico dos pais na perceção da sua dinâmica familiar; Compreender e caracterizar a influência da situação de vida atual (empregado/desempregado) dos pais na perceção da sua dinâmica familiar; compreender e caracterizar a influência da idade dos pais na perceção da sua dinâmica familiar; compreender e caracterizar a dinâmica familiar de famílias de crianças com e sem necessidades educativas especiais. compreender e caracterizar como as variáveis acima supramencionadas influenciam a perceção qualidade de vida das famílias de crianças com e sem necessidades educativas especiais. Fizeram parte deste estudo 1096 sujeitos, 855 mães e 241 pais, com filhos de idades compreendidas entre os 6 e os 16 anos de idade. A escolha dos participantes obedeceu a dois critérios de inclusão: (a) ter pelo menos um filho (b) com idade compreendida entre os 6 e os 16 anos de idade. De um modo geral, os resultados demonstram que a dinâmica familiar varia em função da idade, a escolaridade, a situação de vida atual, o estatuto socioeconómico dos pais e ser pai/mãe de um filho com necessidades educativas especiais. Demonstram ainda que as variáveis estado civil, situação de vida atual e ter pelo menos um filho com NEE, influenciam a perceção que os pais têm da qualidade de vida dos filhos.

The family is one of the main systems of support to the child, so that the child is able to face with more security and possibility of success, the challenges imposed by act of learning. To the family, it can be assigned the function of educational space for the moral, cognitive and affective development of the child, thus allowing the construction of a proper existence. Based on this family function, the present research intends to analyze the perception of the family dynamics of parents with special educational needs children and the perception of their quality of life. The objectives of the present investigation are: To understand and to characterize an influence of the gender of the parents in the perception of their familiar dynamics; Understand and characterize the influence of parents' schooling in the perception of their family dynamics; Understand and characterize the influence of parents' marital status on the perception of their family dynamics; Understand and characterize the socioeconomic influence of parents in the perception of their family dynamics; Understand and characterize the current life situation (employed / unemployed) of parents in the perception of their family dynamics; To understand and characterize the influence of the age of the parents in the perception of their familiar dynamics; To understand and characterize a family dynamics of children with and without special educational needs. Understand and characterize how the variables mentioned above influence the perception of the quality of life of families of children with and without special educational needs. This study included 1096 subjects, 855 mothers and 241 fathers, with children between the ages of 6 and 16 years. The choice of the participants obeyed two inclusion criteria: (a) to have at least one child (b) between the ages of 6 and 16 years old. In general, the results show that family dynamics vary according to age, schooling, current life situation, socioeconomic status of the parents and being the parent of a child with special educational needs. It also shows that the variables marital status, current life situation and having at least one child with SEN influence the parent’s perception of their children's quality of life.
