Arquitectura parasita e re-humanização do centro histórico : o caso de Santa Maria da Feira

Abstract

Partindo da problemática da desumanização, estudamos a arquitetura parasita como método humanizador do centro histórico. Para isso, procedeu-se a uma análise de evolução do centro até aos nossos dias, com o objetivo de entendermos a importância de certos valores que ainda hoje constituem para a imagem cultural, histórica e social do lugar. A re-humanização terá como objetivo dinamizar, estabelecendo uma relação entre o indivíduo e o espaço, onde a arquitetura parasita servirá como ferramenta de auxílio que fará a ligação entre os valores intrínsecos do lugar, de maneira a responder às necessidades atuais do indivíduo, sem prejudicar os laços e a imagem do centro histórico. Para tal, recorreu-se a diferentes autores e referências arquitetónicas que ajudassem a perceber como re-humanizar utilizando a arquitetura parasita. Considerando todos os valores assimilados da reflexão teórica, a segunda parte deste trabalho de investigação centra-se num ensaio projetual no centro histórico de Santa Maria da Feira, onde estrategicamente o parasita se concentra num tipo de ‘reabilitação revitalizador refuncionalista’ sobre o espaço onde oferecerá assim uma nova linguagem pontual, no tecido urbano que contribuirá antropologicamente para novas relações, novos laços com o espaço.

Abstract: Having in mind the dehumanization issue, we studied the parasitic architecture as a means of humanizing a historical center. To achieve this objective, an analysis of the evolution of the historical center up to our days was carried out with the goal of understanding the importance of certain values that still today constitute the cultural, historical and social image of that place. The rehumanizing will have the aim of establishing a relationship between the individual and the space, with the help of the parasitic architecture. Through it, we will relate the different intrinsic values of the space to respond to the current needs of the individual, without damaging the ties and the image of the historical centre. To accomplish this purpose, different authors and architectural references were considered to help us understand how to rehumanize using the parasitic architecture. Having in account the previous theoretical reflection, the following step of this investigation was focused on a designing essay in Santa Maria da Feira historical centre. There, the parasite is strategically concentrated on a form of refunctional revitalizing rehabilitation over the space, which will offer a new one-off language of the urban network so to anthropologically contribute to new affinities and new bonds to the space.
