Revisitar a arquitectura popular: lagar de azeite, centro interpretativo em Bemposta

Abstract

Referindo problemas da atualidade como o despovoamento nas áreas rurais do pais, esta dissertação aborda o tema da reabilitação do património rural como ferramenta de trabalho científico que contribui para salvaguardar a nossa identidade e a memória colectiva. Neste sentido, ancorada nas construções de raiz popular, procura explorar as questões relacionadas com a recuperação e a salvaguarda, atribuindo-lhe novos usos que possibilitem a reutilização das estruturas de transformação que por razões de desajustamento económico e social caíram em desuso. A designação de Centro Interpretativo surgiu da análise e do levantamento de um conjunto de construções localizadas na freguesia de Bemposta, na zona do Inferno junto ao castelo, mas sobretudo por se agruparem em torno do lagar de azeite que escolhemos como elemento organizador do equipamento. A intervenção neste tipo de património em ruma abriu-nos a possibilidade de perceber os processos históricos que levaram à organização e construção do núcleo, bem como a propor soluções que julgamos pertinentes em termos da área disciplinar que integra o universo da arquitetura vernacular na zona de fronteira.

By mentioning current issues such as depopulation of rural areas in Portugal, this dissertation discusses the issue of the rehabilitation of the rural heritage as a tool for scientific work, which contributes to the safeguard of our identity and collective memory. ln this regard, based on constructions of traditional root, it aims to explore issues related to the recovery and safeguard, by giving them new uses that enable the reuse of the processing structures which, by econornic and social rnaladjustment reasons, have become obsolete. The designation of Interpretive Center came from the analysis and survey of a group of buildings located in the parish of Bemposta, in the Infernos area, near the castle, but especially because it takes place around the oil mill, which we chose as an organizing element of the equipment. The intervention in this type of ruins heritage gave us the possibility to understand the historical processes that led to the organization and construction of the core and to propose solutions as well, that we consider relevant in terms of the subject area that includes the universe of vernacular architecture in the border area.
