Cine-teatro de Chaves : recuperação e revitalização

Abstract

Para a presente dissertação realizou-se a investigação do tema relativo à recuperação de Cine-Teatros, com o objectivo de concretizar um ensaio projectual de recuperação do Cine-Teatro da cidade de Chaves. Num momento inicial, foi feito o enquadramento do tema através do estudo das artes do Teatro e do Cinema) ao longo do século XX e no actual século XXI, no âmbito da evolução histórica e arquitectónica de cada uma das áreas. Ainda nesse mesmo momento foi concretizada uma análise acerca da organização morfotipológica dos edifícios dos Cine-Teatros Portugueses construídos no século passado, a qual teve como base fontes bibliográficas que permitiram compreender a organização espacial deste tipo de edifícios. Numa segunda fase foram seleccionados quatro projectos de Cine-Teatros e Teatros nacionais e internacionais, recuperados e construídos de raiz, tendo sido estudados ao nível da sua estrutura, bem como dos espaços que os compõe contribuindo para a maturação sobre o tema. Por fim, numa terceira etapa, executou-se um estudo, sobre a história da cidade onde se integra o Cine-Teatro e também sobre a sua evolução. Foi ainda feita uma análise do estado de conservação do mesmo, de onde se concluiu quais os elementos passíveis de serem recuperados. Terminou-se esta fase com o ensaio projectual de recuperação e revitalização do Cine-Teatro de Chaves o qual resultou de uma mescla de ideias concebidas através do conhecimento absorvido dos vários tópicos que constituíram a investigação em questão.

For this dissertation it was done a research regarding the Theaters restoration, aiming to accomplish a project design essay for the restoration of the Chaves’ Theater. In the first phase, it was done a theme analysis by studying the Theatre and Cinema arts, through the 2Oth and 2lst Centuries, in the scope of its historic and architectonic evolution. It was aRo done a morphological and typological analysis ofthe Portuguese theaters buildings raised in the past century. This analysis was based on bibliographical sources which allowed us to understand the spatial organization of this kind of buildings. In the second phase, it were chosen four national and international theaters projects, which were restored or built from the scratch. The study of the structure and spaces which composed these buildings contributed to improve our knowledge regarding this subject. Finally, it was developed a study regarding the history and evolution of the city where the Theater is Iocated. It was also done an an&ysis of its conservation conditions, having been identified the elements still liable to be restored. The Iast phase ended up with the presentation of a project design essay for restoring and revitalize the Chaves’ Theater. This essay resulted from a mix of ideas conceived through the knowledge acquired regarding the different topics which composed this research.
