A conservação do património pela perspectiva da sua democratização

Abstract

A presente dissertação aborda a temática do Património associada às noções de Memória’ e ‘Tempo Futuro’. Dentro do enfoque, a finalidade do trabalho é discutir a problemática da sua ‘Museificação’ enquanto prática que não permite a inclusão do Património edificado nas atuais necessidades da Sociedade Contemporânea - por consequência, não permitindo, também, o registo da sua estrutura presente em tempos futuros Deste modo, o texto desenvolve-se, numa primeira parte, apresentando conceitos que interagem com a definição de ‘Património’, (como por exemplo, História e Identidade) e, num segundo momento, identificando formas de atuação que viabilizem o livre acesso ao Património e a sua Democratização. Com eficácia, a nossa abordagem surge em defesa das reconversões funcionais que colocam a utilidade do Bem Patrimonial ao serviço das suas populações. No respetivo enquadramento, é nosso propósito interpretar o Património Cultural como suporte de Memória Social, ou seja, os edifícios e áreas urbanas de valor patrimonial podem ser entendidos como um ponto de apoio para a construção da Memória Social, como um estímulo externo que, por um lado, ajuda a reativar traços da Memória Colectiva e por outro, fomenta a sua criação em Tempo Presente.

The present work addresses the theme of Heritage linked to notions of ‘Memory' and 'Future Times’. Within the approach, the purpose is to discuss the issue of its ‘Museumification’ as a practice that does not allow the inclusion of heritage buildings on the current needs of to Contemporary Society - therefore, as well, not allowing the registration of its present structure in Future Times. ln this way the text is developed, in a first moment by presenting concepts that directly interact with the definition of ‘Heritage’ (for instance, History and Identity), and subsequently, by identifying ways of acting that truly allow free access to heritage buildings and its Democratizaüon. Effectively, our approach appears to defense of functional reconversion, which puts the building at the service of local residents. At the scope it is our purpose to interpret Cultural Heritage as Social Memory support, in other words, buildings and urban areas wit heritage value can be understood as a support point for the construction of Social Memory, as an external stimulus which, firstly, helps on reactivating traces of Collective Memory and secondly encourages its creation at a Present Time.
