Recuperação da arquitectura monástica : Convento de Madre Deus de Monchique no Porto

Abstract

A presente dissertação aborda o tema a Recuperação da Arquitectura Monástica tendo com subtema e caso de estudo o Convento Madre Deus de Monchique no Porto, vindo assim constituir como uma ferramenta de memória colectiva a importância de o transpor para o futuro. Desta forma, pretende-se assim explorar a questão da recuperação e reconversão de novos usos como um meio de intervir no Património construído, reutilizando assim estruturas antigas na actualidade. O estudo feito aos edifícios monásticos adaptados a novas funções, procura perceber através deste trabalho os processos históricos efectuados que levaram à recuperação e reconversão deste tipo de edifícios. De seguida, depois de uma selecção de referências todas elas escolhidas segundo a sua importância no que se refere à maneira de intervir no Património foi dado para cada uma, um exemplo com a análise histórica do edifício, uma breve abordagem ao edifício já a ter usufruto da nova função e uma comparação feita entre estas referências e o caso de estudo. A qualidade que constitui cada edifício Patrimonial vai alongar-se às intervenções que são efectuadas neles, pretende-se assim uma abordagem de intervenção única que venha valorizar o Património construído, tendo o caso de estudo com exemplo prático, no qual este pretende mesmo com a sua nova função respeitar o existente.

The present dissertation approaches the theme of Monastic Architecture recovery having with subthemes and case study the Convent Madre Deus de Monchique in Oporto, coming thus constitute as a 1001 of collective memory the importance of the bridge to the future. This way, we intend to explore the issue of recovery and conversion to new uses as a means to intervene in the built heritage, reusing old structures like that at present. The study made the monastic buildings adapted lo new functions, seeks to understand through this work the historical processes carried out leading to the retrieval and conversion of this type of buildings. Then, after a selection of references they all chosen according to their importance as regards the way to intervene in the heritage, was given to each, an example with the historical analysis of the building, a brief approach to the building having enjoyment of new function and a comparison is made between these references and the case study. The qualily that constitutes each Patrimonial building will stretch to interventions which are carried out on them, so a single intervention approach that will enhance the built heritage, having the case study with practical example, on which this plan to your new role respecting the existing.
