Revitalizar interior de um quarteirão : quarteirão do Largo da Condessa do Juncal, Guimarães

Abstract

A presente investigação incide sobre questões e problemáticas no interior do quarteirão no casco histórico de Guimarães, com a perspectiva de o revitalizar e criar novas oportunidades para o crescimento e regeneração urbana. Para tal entendimento, foi imperativo o estudo do início da revolução morfológica da cidade e com o passar do tempo apercebemo-nos dos problemas inerentes aos crescimento urbano, nomeadamente os interiores do quarteirão e os problemas a ele associados, a lembrar o "esquecimento" a que foi dado. O presente estudo vai tentar responder aos problemas evidenciados no interior do quarteirão, tais como a necessidade de novas valências e com esta o intuito de gerar mais vivência no mesmo. Tendo por base a análise do território bem como o estudo de alguns casos de referência, que de certo modo pautaram toda a nossa investigação, culminaremos esta dissertação com a exposição de uma proposta de intervenção, para a revitalização do interior do quarteirão no Largo da Condessa do juncal em Guimarães, onde procuramos colocar em prática, as metodologias estudadas: dar vitalidade, por intermédio de soluções construtivas multifuncionais, que se adequem ao quotidiano contemporâneo tais como questões funcionais, sociais e estado de conservação com a intenção de oferecer um contributo ao local e seu património, constituindo os nossos resultados mais importantes no trabalho efetuado.

This research focuses on issues and problems related to city block interior in the historical center of Guimarães. It is aimed to revitalize and create new opportunities for the urban growth and regeneration. Thus, a research on the morphological revolution of the cities became imperative and, as time goes by, we became aware of the problems inherent to the urban growth, namely the city block interior’s problems, remembering the “forgetfulness” that was given. This research will try to find an answer to the problems identified in the city block interior as well as to the needs of new valences in order to create living conditions there. Based on both the territory analysis and the study of some reference cases, which have guided our research, this essay will culminate with the exposure of an intervention proposal for the revitalization of the quarter interior in the Square of Condessa do Juncal in Guimarães, where we have put in practice the studied methods and given vitality through multifunctional and constructive solutions suitable to contemporary everyday life such as functional and social questions, contributing therefore to the preservation of the local and patrimony, constituting this the most important results of the work done.
