Reabilitação e reconversão : a Casa Mota Prego : centro histórico de Guimarães

Abstract

Na dissertação a seguir apresentada é efetuada uma investigação sobre a temática da reabilitação e reconversão de edifícios com valor patrimonial ao longo dos últimos séculos, refletindo e analisando como o arquiteto pode intervir neste tipo de edifícios. Os edifícios com valor patrimonial são um recurso que são frequentemente esquecidos no tempo, sendo que, a reabilitação e reconversão de um edifício que se tornou esquecido pode levar a espaços interessantes e originais. Para permitir que alguns dos edifícios funcionem com um novo programa será necessária uma intervenção quer a nível de pequenas reparações, grandes adições ou remodelações no interior, no entanto a questão essencial é de como fazer essas intervenções sensíveis, respeitando a história do edifício, adequando-o à sua nova função, pelo que, o Centro Histórico da Cidade de Guimarães foi o local escolhido para estudar a integração sensível das intervenções. O grande desafio foi o de fazer a mudança no edifício permitindo um novo programa, adicionando elementos contemporâneos, mantendo a linguagem arquitetónica original do edifício. A adaptação a pousadas destes edifícios deixados ao abandono tornou-se uma realidade a nível nacional, sendo vários os exemplos espalhados pelo País, contribuindo para a sua prossecução. Assim, achamos relevante utilizar as pousadas para caso de estudo desta dissertação.

In the dissertation presented below is carried out an investigation about the rehabilitation and conversion of patrimonial buildings over the centuries last, reflecting and analyzing the way the architect can interfere in this type of buildings. Patrimonial buildings are a resource that is often forgotten in time, and the rehabilitation and conversion of a building that has been forgotten can lead to interesting and original spaces. To allow some of the buildings to work with a new program an intervention at the level of minor repairs, great additions or modifications inside the building will be needed, however the essential questions is how to make these sensitive interventions, respecting the building's history, connecting it to his new role, the Historical Center of Guimarães was chosen to study the sensitive integration of interventions. The big challenge was to make the change in the building allowing a new program by adding contemporary elements while keeping the original architectural language of the building. The change of these abandoned buildings in to hotels became a reality at a national level, with many examples around the country, thus contributing to its continuation. So, we have decided to use these hotels as an object of study of this thesis.
