O psicólogo no Centro de Assistência Social à Terceira Idade e Infância de Sanguedo

Abstract

Este relatório de estágio reflete a atuação de um psicólogo em contexto da Creche, Pré-escolar, Lar/Centro de dia e Centro Comunitário. Este tem por objetivo refletir e enriquecer a prática da psicologia clínica nestes contextos. Desta forma, ao longo deste relatório estão descritas as várias atividades que fui realizando ao longo do estágio, espelhando simultaneamente a importância da psicologia na atuação com estas populações. Os focos de atuação foram diversos, desde crianças, adultos e seniores sendo as atividades focadas de acordo com as necessidades de cada população-alvo. Ao nível da infância, a intervenção foi focada na prevenção do desenvolvimento de comportamentos de risco, exploração das emoções e, com um grupo específico, a preparação para a entrada no 1° ciclo. Coma terceira Idade, a intervenção foi direccionada para a estimulação das capacidades cognitivas e potenciar a otimização do processo de envelhecimento. No Centro Comunitário, para além das consultas psicológicas, foi realizado um projeto - Grupo de Ajuda Mútua. Assim, ao longo deste período de estágio foi possível perceber a importância do psicólogo em diferentes contextos e que este se deve colocar sempre à disposição da instituição e focada na intervenção/prevenção. As várias intervenções realizadas permitiram compreender melhor a importância da atuação do psicólogo ao nível da infância e Terceira Idade nomeadamente ao nível da prevenção e promoveram a melhoria do relacionamento entre crianças e comportamentos adaptativos ao nível da infância bem como melhorar o bem-estar psicológico, cognitivo e social dos seniores.

Abstract: This dissertation reflects the work of a psychologist in the context of Preschool, Retirement Home/ Day Care Centre and Comrnunity Centre. It aims to discusst the practice of the clinical psychology approach in these settings. Thus, throughout this report the various activities that I have performed over the internship are described, reflecting both the importance of psychology in action with these populations. The focus of the activities were different regarding children, adults and seniors, according to the needs of each target population. In childhood, the intervention was focused on preventing the development of risk behaviors and exporation of the emotions. On the other hand, I did the preparation for entry on 1st cycle with a specific group. In senior age, the interventions was directed towards the stimulation of cognitive skills and the promotion the optimization of the aging process. In community center, in addition to psychological consultation I developed and conducted a project - Self-help Group. Thus, over this period of internship, I acknowledged the importance of the psychologist intervention in different settings and focused on prevention/intervention. The various interventions have allowed a better understanding of the importance of the psychologist in childhood and in the elderly particularly in terms of prevention and to promote the improvernent of the relationship between peers in and to develop adaptive behaviors in children well as to improve psychological well-being and cognitive and social skills in seniors.
