Orientação e mobilidade : o docente de educação especial VS o docente especialista em orientação e mobilidade

Abstract

Para um individuo portador de Deficiência Visual, orientar-se e deslocar-se quer em ambientes interiores quer em ambientes exteriores, não é de todo fácil, Desta forma o sistema de ensino português preconiza que os mesmos possam beneficiar de apoio específico no âmbito da Orientação e Mobilidade. Com o desenvolvimento deste estudo pretendemos perceber a opinião dos professores quanto ao estado actual desta área de apoio no sistema de ensino português e ainda a sua perceção quanto ao nível de formação que têm e qual o desejável para prestar um serviço de apoio que mais beneficie o aluno. Para levar a efeito o estudo aplicamos um inquérito, o qual foi analisado segundo o método qualitativo. Dos resultados obtidos salientamos que na opinião dos inquiridos o sistema de ensino português não satisfaz as necessidades educativas no âmbito da Orientação e Mobilidade principalmente pela falta de professores especializados. Esta lacuna (especialização dos professores), foi mesmo apontada pelos participantes como podendo traduzir-se como um entrave á mobilidade autónoma e eficiente dos alunos. Neste particular, a mobilidade menos eficiente foi apontada com um fator dificultador de acesso ao emprego. Defendemos a necessidade, quer das mais altas patentes educativas do país quer das instituições de ensino superior, ponderarem sobre a temática e procurarem uma adequação estrutural e curricular, sensível e organizada.

Abstract: For a person with Visual Impairment, orient and move either in indoor environments or in outdoor environments, it is not so easy. In this way the Portuguese education system advocates that they can beneflt from specific support in the context, of Orientation and Mobility. With the development of this study we perceive the opinion of teachers regarding the current state of this area of support in the Portuguese education system and even its perceiving than, regarding the level of training that has and what the desirable to provide a support service that most benefit the student. To bring into effect the study we applied an investigation, which was analyzed according to the qualitative method. The results obtained we stress that in the opinion of respondents the Portuguese education system does not meet the educational needs in the context of Orientation and Mobility mainly by lack of specialized teachers. This gap (specialization of teachers), was even cited by participants as it can be translated as an obstacle to the autonomous and efficient mobility of students. In this connection, the mobility less efficient was pointed out with anolher complicating factor for access to employment. We advocate the need either of higher educational patent country either of the institutions of higher educadon, consider about the theme and seek a suitability structural and curricular, sensitive and organized.
