Cyberbullying is characterized as aggressive behavior, purposeful and repeated, against a victim by means of electronic communication devices. This study aims to characterize the victimization and perpetration of cyberbullying in young adults, as well as to analyze the relationship between victimization, family environment and mental health, comparing with non-victims. In order to fulfill this objective, the Questionário de Cyberbullying no Ensino Superior will be used to assess the situation of victimization and perpetration of Cyberbullying, the Family Environment Scale - R to assess the family environment and the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales to assess mental health. In a sample of 105 young adults aged 18 to 25 years (M = 20.53), 36 (34.4%) were victims of cyberbullying and 6 (5.7%) were perpetrators of cyberbullying. No statistically significant differences were identified between mental health levels and the family environment between victims and non-victims. However, victims of cyberbullying had worse mental health outcomes and a worse family environment. Cyberbullying did not moderate the relationship between the family environment and levels of depression, anxiety and stress. |
