Limite entre espaço interior e espaço exterior : um estudo de 3 casas do atelier Aires Mateus

Abstract

As fachadas constituem o LIMITE espacial de toda a acção que acontece no interior, estabelecendo com o espaço exterior, relações específicas capazes de manipular a percepção do Homem. Uma proposta de limite, que poderá ser um elemento fundamental do projecto de arquitectura e definidor de uma ideia conceptual. É através do processo de transposição espacial destes limites, que o corpo humano, por um lado, transita entre espaços, como por outro, é envolvido na trama espacial e na narrativa do espaço pensado pelo arquitecto. Para além dos outros papeis que desempenha, a fachada também é a representação formal e final da arquitectura, talvez até, responsável pelo primeiro contacto do observador com a obra. A escolha do programa “Casas” e o habitar unifamiliar fundamenta-se, essencialmente, pelo facto da casa e o seu habitar fazer parte de nós. Todos nós residimos num espaço que é nosso, num espaço íntimo e privado, a nossa casa, convertendo o habitar na base primária da arquitectura, pois todos nós habitamos a arquitectura. É tambem, um tema possuidor de diversidade de linguagens e opções formais e espaciais que este tipo de programa tem, insistentemente, pontuado a actividade profissional do Atelier Aires Mateus. Neste sentido, consideramos que para além da importância de se poder realizar um trabalho de investigação especificamente focado na importância da casa, o mesmo aplicado a casos de estudo do atelier Aires Mateus, poderá acrescentar alguns esclarecimentos menos explorados na obra destes autores.

The topic here presented, seeks to explore the importance of the relationship between the interior space and the exterior space, using the work of the studio Aires Mateus. The facades make the spatial LIMIT of all the actions that take place on the inside, establishing with the outer space specific relationships, capable of manipulating man’s perception. A limit proposal, that can be a fundamental element of an architecture project and defining of a conceptual ideia. It is through the process of spatial transposition of these boundaries, that the human body, on one hand, moves through spaces, and on the other hand, is involved in the spatial plot and in the narrative of the space planed by the architect. Besides the other roles that it plays, the façade is also a formal and final representation of architecture, maybe even responsible for the first contact that the observer has with the work. The choice of the program “Casas” and the single-family in-habit is based, essentially, on the fact that the house and its inhabitance are part of us. We all live in a space that is ours, in an intimate and private space, our home, converting inhabitance into the primary basis of architecture, since we all live in architecture. It is also, a topic with a diversity of languages, and formal and spatial options that this type of program has, constantly, pointed to the professional activity of this studio. In that regard, we consider that besides the importance of being able to develop an investigation work specifically focused on the importance of the house, the same applied to case studies of the studio Aires Mateus, can add some clarifications that have not been as explored on the work of these authors.
