Intervenção projetual em ruínas classificadas : o Solar dos Magalhães

Abstract

Resumo: A intervenção projetual em ruínas classificadas, pressupõe revisitar valores do passado. Estas integrações confundem-se, residualmente, com a identidade cultural, uma vez que não é possível viver o passado, mas sim consolidar os valores presentes do passado. Ainda que existam intervenções projetuais problemáticas no património edificado pela falta de rigor na intervenção, no sentido estético, na materialidade, ou na ausência de estudos arqueológicos, entre outros, urge a vontade de restaurar, readaptar, e principalmente, permitir a “continuidade” destes vestígios históricos ausentes no contexto contemporâneo. Na atualidade, está patente a opção da reabilitação de edifícios históricos em vez da sua substituição por novas construções mais funcionais. Podemos afirmar que a reabilitação, reconversão e restauro, são processos irrecusáveis nas metodologias arquitetónicas atuais, principalmente, no contexto urbano das cidades mais antigas. As ruínas, fazem parte da nossa história comum e encontram-se, em grande parte, desvalorizadas e obsoletas. Analisando os princípios e as teorias intervencionistas que se aproximam dos valores da ruína classificada, pretende-se agora aprofundar a simbiose entre o “velho” e o “novo” que justifique a intervenção projetual como fator valorativo. Para melhor compreensão e reflexão temática, são analisados distintos casos de estudo sobre intervenções projetuais similares. Por fim, apresenta-se a proposta projetual da intervenção na ruína classificada do Solar dos Magalhães, como um exercício que “materializa” os estudos efetuados e ensaia, principalmente, a uma metodologia de intervenção no património histórico.

Abstract:. Projected intervention in classified ruins implies revisiting values of the past. These integrations are slightly confused with cultural identity, since it is not possib1le to live the past, but rather to consolidate the present values of the past. Although there are problematic project interventions in the built heritage by the lack of accuracy in intervention in the aesthetic sense, in the materiality or in the absence of archaeological studies, among others, arises the urge to restore, readapt and, above all, to enable "continuity" of these historical vestiges absent in the contemporary context. At present, there is the option of rehabilitating historic buildings, instead of replacing them with more functional ones. We can state that the rehabilitation, reconversion and restoration are irrefutable processes in the current architectural methodologies, mainly in the urban context of the oldest cities. Ruins are part of our common history and are to a large extent devalued and obsolete. Analyzing the interventionist principles and theories that approach the values of a classified ruin, it is now intended to deepen the symbiosis between the "old" and the "new" that emphasises project intervention as an added value. For better understanding and thematic reflection, different cases of study on similar project interventions are analyzed. Finally, the project proposal for the intervention in the classified ruin of «Solar dos Magalhães» is presented, as an exercise that not only "materializes" the studies carried out, but also rehearses a methodology of intervention in the historical patrimony.
