Evolução e conceitos da arquitectura hospitalar

Abstract

A presente dissertação tem como objetivo entender e sintetizar o complexo sistema que abarca o conceito de hospital. Não se trata apenas de enfatizar a arquitectura como um fim que deve conter os meios, mas entender como esta deu resposta em cada momento da história a cada tipo de sociedade, medicina ou doenças, e as relações que com estas manteve durante a sua evolução. Trata-se também de um percurso individual onde vamos procurar efetuar uma reflexão analítica sobre o futuro dos hospitais.

The present dissertation aims to understand and synthesize complex system that encompasses the concept of the hospital. It is not only a question of emphasizing architecture as an end that must contain the means, but rather to understand how it has responded in every moment of history to every type of society, medicine, or disease, and the relationships it has maintained during its evolution. It is also an individual journey where we will try to make an analytical reflection on the future of hospitals.
