Outras formas de habitar : um contributo para o desenvolvimento sustentável

Abstract

Nunca se estudou tanto de sustentabilidade como nos dias que correm, é um termo que se generalizou com alguma facilidade. A verdade é que provavelmente nem sempre se tem consciência real que se está a ser sustentável ou a contribuir para a sustentabilidade. Em arquitetura ser sustentável representa diversas opções ao longo do processo de produção de uma habitação. Desde as diferentes técnicas de extração de materiais, ao controle de produção, à distribuição, aplicação no local, etc., muitos são os factores técnicos e tecnológicos que podem optimizar e determinar se uma habitação é mais ou menos sustentável. Do estudo desenvolvido pelo autor no âmbito destas matérias, foi fácil compreender que vários são os factores, que direta ou indiretamente, podem influenciar, positiva ou negativamente uma habitação, isto é, torna-la mais ou menos sustentável, no entanto neste documento procura-se através dos exemplos apresentados, demonstrar que independentemente das técnicas ou tecnologias aplicadas a uma habitação, que é, na forma de pensar e projetar o habitar, que está o sucesso para se ser mais sustentável e que esse sucesso só é possível, optando por soluções inovadoras e experimentalistas.

It has never been studied as much about sustainability as it has in the present day, a term that has been generalized with some ease. The truth is that there is probably not always any real awareness that one is being sustainable or contributing to sustainability. In architecture being sustainable represents several options throughout the process of producing a dwelling. From the different techniques of material extraction, to production control, to distribution, to application in place, etc., there are many technical and technological factors that can optimize and determine if a house is more or less sustainable. From the study developed by the author in the context of these subjects, it was easy to understand that several factors, which directly or indirectly can influence, positively or negatively a housing, that is, make it more or less sustainable. It is clear from the examples presented that, regardless of the techniques or technologies applied to a dwelling, which is, in the way of thinking and designing the dwelling, that success is to be more sustainable and that this success is only possible, opting for innovative solutions and experimentalism.
