Proporção : matemática e arquitectura

Abstract

A presente dissertação de mestrado em Arquitectura tem por objectivo a revalorização da â??proporçãoâ?? na definição e concretização de uma obra arquitectónica. A nossa intenção é relembrar e mostrar que tudo, em arquitectura, advém das diversas referências culturais que vamos adquirindo ao longo dos nossos estudos e investigações, que nada é inato. E que a matemática é transversal a todas as suas manifestações. O nosso estudo vai incidir sobre a proporção e o Modulor em três publicações de Le Corbusier. A selecção recaiu em três obras de períodos diferentes: a Villa Stein-de-Monzie, em Garches de 1926-1928; a segunda obra escolhida foi a Unidade de Habitação, em Marselha de 1946-1952; a terceira, o Convento de La Tourette, em Eveux-sur-Arbresle, perto de Lyon de 1953-1960. A obra de Le Corbusier é, para nós, um ícone da arquitectura, que transparece beleza e harmonia. Ã? algo que podemos contemplar até que o futuro incerto a destrua.

The aim of this Masters in Architecture dissertation is to revaluation the 'proportion' in the definition and implementation of an architectonic work. Our intention is to remember and show that everything, in architecture, comes from the various cultural references that we acquire throughout our studies and research, that nothing is innate. And that mathematics is transverse in all its manifestation. Our study will focus on the proportion and Modulor in three publications of Le Corbusier. The selection established three works from different periods: the Villa Stein-de-Monzie, in Garches, with dates from the period 1926-1928, the second work chosen was the Housing Unit, in Marseille between 1946 and 1952, and the final work chosen was the Convent of La Tourette in Eveux-sur-Arbresle, near Lyon from the period 1953-1960. The work of Le Corbusier is for us, an icon of architecture, which is evident beauty and harmony. It's something we can even contemplate until the uncertain future until to destroy.
