Reabilitação dinâmica : flexibilização das tipologias habitacionais no núcleo histórico de Guimarães

Abstract

A reabilitação do património habitacional do núcleo histórico da cidade de Guimarães foi o ponto de partida para este trabalho de investigação. Através da análise estatística de determinados parâmetros da organização dos agregados familiares dos nossos dias, concluiu-se que estes têm vindo a tornar-se cada vez mais diversificados, apesar da sua contração no que diz respeito aos seus membros constituintes. A crescente heterogeneidade dos núcleos familiares, revelou-se contraditória ao desenvolvimento de tipologias habitacionais mais ou menos estáticas, pensadas para agregados de maiores dimensões que tendem em desaparecer. Considerando a habitação como um produto de uma sociedade cada vez mais heterogénea e constatada a diversidade morfotipologica do parque edificado no núcleo histórico de Guimarães, verifica-se que a reabilitação deste tipo de património não deverá resultar apenas da necessidade de preservar os valores indentitários do lugar. Assim, considerando a dualidade dinâmica entre a componente material e imaterial da noção de património, promovendo um conhecimento alargado das condições físicas, sociais e económicas do lugar e dos seus consequentes impactos nas necessidades quotidianas das pessoas, investimos aqui, num posicionamento fundamentado pelo conhecimento da realidade histórica e estatística da amostra em estudo, que nos conduziu, enquanto resultados alcançados de maior interesse, a um processo de reabilitação do património arquitectónico habitacional, capaz de preservar a identidade e autenticidade do lugar, com os níveis de desempenho socio funcionais hoje exigíveis, aproveitando a oportunidade de desenvolvimento de habitações tipologicamente ajustadas à realidade social atual.

The rehabilitation of housing patrimony in the historic center of the city of Guimarães was the starting point for this research work. Through statistical analysis of certain parameters of the organization of households of today, it was concluded that these have become increasingly diversified, despite their numerical contraction of its constituent members. The growing heterogeneity of the family units, turned out to be contradictory to the development of more or less static housing typologies, designed for larger households that tend to disappear. Considering housing as a product of an increasingly heterogeneous society and observed morphological diversity of the buildings in the historical core of Guimarães, it is verified that this type of patrimony rehabilitation should not result only from the need to preserve the values and identity of the place. Therefore, considering the dynamic duality between the material and immaterial component of the notion of patrimony, promoting a wider knowledge of the physical, social and economic conditions of the place and its consequent impact on everyday needs of people, we invested here, in a reasoned position by historical and statistical knowledge of the reality of the sample under study, that led us to a process of rehabilitation of architectural housing patrimony, capable to preserve the identity and authenticity of the place, with social and functional performance levels required today, taking the opportunity of development of houses typologically adjusted to the current social reality.
