Regeneração de Santa Maria da Feira através da cultura de excepção

Abstract

Nesta dissertação iremos explicar quais são os mega-eventos, que têm como principal foco a propagação da cultura de cada país. Compreendemos que as suas distintas escalas de intervenção irão influenciar o seu desenvolvimento futuro no pós-evento. Neste caso os mega-eventos escolhidos foram as Exposições Internacionais e as Capitais Europeias da Cultura, mais especificamente em relação a Exposição Internacional em Lisboa 1998 e a Cidade Europeia da Cultura em Guimarães 2012. Comparou-se os dois tipos de intervenção e atribui-se uma distinção clara ao nível de escala: intervenção ao nível local e intervenção ao nível urbano. Assim sendo consideramos que o tipo de intervenção que mais se adequa à dinamização da cidade é aquele que passa por uma intervenção cultural a nível urbano que estrutura a mesma interligando-a e tornando-a num todo.

Abstract: In this thesis we will explain what are the mega- events, which are focused primarily on the spread of the culture of each country . We understand that their different scales of intervention will influence its future development in the post- event. In this case the chosen mega- events were the International Exhibitions and the European Capitals of Culture, more specifically regarding the International Exhibition in Lisbon 1998 and the European City of Culture in Guimarães 2012. We compared the two types of intervention and assigns a clear distinction in scale: intervention at the local level and intervention citywide . Therefore we consider that the type of intervention that best suits the dynamics of the city is the one that goes through a cultural intervention at the urban level.
