Serviço Social : novos e velhos contextos de intervenção : leitura crítica de uma obra coletiva

Abstract

O presente texto sistematiza a apresentação pública da obra Serviço Social: Novos (Velhos) Contextos de Intervenção, coordenada por Carla Carvalho e Helena M. Carvalho, no Seminário Internacional “Serviço Social na História: exigências e transformações do século XXI”. Partindo da tensão produtiva entre contextos emergentes e campos historicamente consolidados da profissão, procura-se evidenciar o modo como a obra contribui para a reflexão crítica sobre os desafios contemporâneos do Serviço Social. A análise organiza-se em torno de cinco eixos transversais: a leitura crítica da complexidade social, a articulação entre teoria e prática, a centralidade da ética, a recuperação da comunidade como espaço de intervenção e a inovação entendida como processo colaborativo e socialmente situado. A obra é aqui interpretada como contributo académico e profissional para estudantes, investigadores/as e assistentes sociais, ao articular investigação, prática profissional e reflexão teórico-metodológica.

This text systematises the public presentation of the book Serviço Social: Novos (Velhos) Contextos de Intervenção, coordinated by Carla Carvalho and Helena M. Carvalho. Starting from the productive tension between emerging contexts and historically consolidated fields of the profession, it seeks to highlight the ways in which the book contributes to critical reflection on the contemporary challenges facing Social Work. The analysis is organised around five cross-cutting axes: a critical reading of social complexity, the articulation between theory and practice, the centrality of ethics, the recovery of community as a space for intervention, and innovation understood as a collaborative and socially situated process. The book is interpreted here as an academic and professional contribution for students, researchers and social workers, insofar as it articulates research, professional practice and theoretical-methodological reflection.
