O vazio habitado, a envolta atmosfera.
Architecture is not the building per se, but the space it inhabits — the inhabited void, the surrounding atmosphere. It is the place of encounter with ineffable Beauty. This is the ancient and enduring longing of humanity: an Architecture that is authentic, essential. Its future does not lie in our modernity, but in our integrity —a wholeness that is truly human and, therefore, eternal. To the architects, it is not only asked to conceive such architecture, but to desire it, to cherish it. Only through such longing may they one day offer the world a true Architecture — one that fills and illuminates the world’s obscurity, that moves and elevates the human heart toward the heights of the divine. In this dissertation, beginning with the rediscovered dialogue between Liturgy and Architecture, we embark on a transcendent via universalis —the path that leads into the concrete reality of two fragments of eternity, two sacred spaces in which the Transcendent is interwoven with Silence and Liturgy, the visible and the invisible. We may then ask ourselves: How might Architecture once again become transcendently Beautiful, profound, and truly Sacred?
